Deepti Behl, M.D.
Deepti Behl, M.D., is a medical oncologist and chair of the Sutter-wide melanoma Program of Distinction (POD). She is also the medical director of the lung cancer program and medical director for the Sutter Institute for Medical Research (SIMR) in Sacramento. She completed her residency and fellowship training in hematology and oncology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. Her medical school was Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, India. She did a residency in Internal Medicine in India as well, at the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi.
She is a current fellow at the University of Arizona, Andrew Weil Fellowship in Integrative Medicine, and expected to graduate in the fall of 2023.
She is a member of the international tobacco control committee of the IASLC ( International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer), and has been peer-nominated as one of the best doctors in Sacramento several times, most recently in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 (as published in the “Sacramento Magazine.”)
She is Board certified in medical oncology and hospice and palliative care, and focuses on lung cancer and melanoma. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Society for immunotherapy for Cancer (SITC), International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) and Society of Integrative Oncology (SIO).
She enjoys reading about a wide range of topics, cooking, hiking, and learning languages; currently learning Sanskrit, an ancient Indian language.
